ARTIST STATEMENT
This work was first started back in 2011 when I was first learning about Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS3. This work is a reflection on keeping things moving in your life despite all the challenges, despite all the struggles the failures the tragedies the possible loss of loved ones in your life. Time keeps moving life keeps going and with it so shall I. I wasn’t feeling all to well during the process of remixing this digital painting. I was working on this during the holidays and I was fighting with dehydration and a bowel blockage on top of my kidney failure. I rested, of course, but I had that itch to draw and paint and create and tell my story. I scratched that itch with this digital masterpiece along with other drawings. Furthermore I will scratch out more painting in 2021. I won’t allow what went wrong in 2020 to effect what I have planned in 2021.
The name ”KeepOnKeepinOn” comes from my former supervisor when I was a senior technician at the CDC. When things didn’t go as planned he would always say “We’re just gonna keep on keeping on”. I have great respect and love for this man. He’s my brother and my inspiration advisor.

Split at the River
This is a 48' wide by 24" Acrylic painting on Canvas. I call this James River which is a river in the Hampton roads Area in Virginia. I wanted to do a slightly abstract seascape painting but the more I painted and the more I started to add color to the piece I began to add layers of detail.
